Stick To Your Guns started out in 2003. The band is based in Orange County, CA. We have gone through a few member changes, but the band now consists of Jesse (vocals), Alex (guitar), Ryan the Dog (guitar), Reid (bass), and Casey (drums). Our first release was put out on Sumerian Records a little over a year ago and our most recent release came out a few months ago courtesy of Century Media.

"Comes From The Heart" is our newest record that recently came out on Century Media. It is the end result of a lot of effort and work. The record is somewhat different from our first release both lyrically and musically. The lyrics are much more controversial and intense. The music is much more melodic and catchy. Overall, we feel it is our best material.

I (Ryan) did not take part in the recording process. Jesse and Casey were the only ones that actually recorded the album. The mighty Zeus recorded the record and we are all more than happy with what he made of it. He greatly exceeded our expectations and we hope to work with him again in the future. His studio is amazing. It really is an overall great experience for any band that has the chance to record there. Casey and Jesse came back with a lot of video and pictures from the sessions and it was enough to convince me that it was awesome.

The song writing process is never really set with us. Each song kind of just comes along as it does. Sometimes Jesse will just have a part of a song and Casey will have a part of a song and they will both fit together to form something worth keeping. Other times, one member will write a whole song and have it completed. There isn’t really a set structure for song composition.

The concept came from Jesse and Casey. The actual cover art was drawn up by our friend Josh. The rest of the layout was completed by Adam Hunt, who currently plays drums for Graf Orlock. He does great artwork and always leaves us satisfied.

Personally, it’s a toss up between "Heartless" and "Part of Me." They are the angriest songs on the record and they have the most energy to them. Those kind of songs just stand out more to me. Other members may feel differently.

We just did our first music video for the record. It was for the song "Enough’s Enough." We should have the final copy within the next week or so and we are very excited to see it and share it. We have filmed a couple videos in the past, but this was a whole new experience for us. It seemed to be a much bigger production and a lot more people had their hands in on the work for it. It should turn out real good.

This varies greatly by member, but I will be happy to share my favourites. My favourite bands would consist of The Misfits, Samhain, Ringworm, Integrity, Merauder, and the Descendents. Favorite albums: Merauder – "Master Killer", Samhain – "Initium", Misfits – "Earth A.D." and "Legacy of Brutality" and several others but I’m sure you get the idea at this point.

After the Hell on Earth tour in September and October, we will be doing a tour over in America with Every Time I Die. We are very excited for that tour and we expect great things. That tour will carry straight into a headlining tour with My Children My Bride, Agraceful, and a few others. I think we are planning on writing the next record after that.

No. We are the most disagreeable and worthless individuals the music industry has ever come to know. It is a miracle that we have ever managed to play a show. Our only joy is found in each others failures as musicians and as people. Just kidding … we are pretty worthless, but we manage to come up with some good jokes every once in a while.

Jesse and I have a grimcore project in the works called Hellbringer. It kind of sounds like Ringworm. Alex has a folk side project that he does when STYG is off. Casey has his solo project that you should be hearing from soon.
