To the general audience as well as on the promotional flyers, Echoes is presented as a Classic Heavy Metal album. To better fit the real sound of the songs, this definition should probably be extended to include themes and dark atmospheres, ranging from hard-rock textures to tighter metal passages, with some proggy stuff around. Echoes is also about moods and feelings, an introspective trip through everyone’s own experiences. Finally, Echoes is a great Artwork with a pumpkiny mysterious character on! Could you tell we are proud of it!? Hell yeah!!!

We started writing Echoes after a while from our first album Cassandra. During that time we were gigging a lot, and many early ideas came out during sound checks or somehow doing stuff all together. At that time we also met our producer Pat Scalabrino, and we started writing tons of material, his support and supervision were absolutely fundamental. The writing process of Echoes indeed is still based on main contributions of Alex Danieli and myself, but I have to say that during the rehearsals and the pre-production there have been a real magic collaborative and creative spirit. I am sure that you can feel it in the songs, the mixture of all these elements is the real strength of Echoes! Moreover we hardly wanted this album to sound with all of our live attitude and energy, and we think we got it!

We usually start from guitars or bass guitar parts, but in general there are no rules about. Sometimes we start from refrains with piano chords, or others from killer guitar riffs! What a nice thing not to have rules for composition!

Yes sure! Echoes was recorded, mixed and mastered by Luigi Stefanini at the New Sin Studios, where other bands like Labyrinth, Vision Divine and Domine spent some of their recording sessions. Luigi is a very professional and good guy, we made a wonderful work with him. We fixed some ideas and rearranged some passages during the recording sessions, and I think that Luigi’s contribution is a additional magic for the final result. Indeed, we came up with a co-production of Pat and Luigi!

After all, we have an insane dark nature. The lyrics of the songs walk through introspective themes leaded by various states of mind. There is a common thread along the lyrics, moods recall to mysterious trips through the feelings that people experience while questioning about his existence. Life choices that come back from the past… Echoes, indeed!

There are a lot of different influences, both inside the band and also regarding each of us. Beyond the overcited bands like Fates Warning, Queensryche and Iron Maiden, we really appreciate Nevermore, Stone Sour, Sevendust and many other bands. Again, so many different influences lead to a wider range of ideas, and this is necessary for every band to find his own personal sound.

I do love it. Honestly, I had the chance to say it also during other interviews, I think that in the last 5 years the quality of the metal scene is amazing. I’ve been hearing a lot of shit during the late 90’s, but I recently found amazing albums with at least 5-6 top songs, perfect arrangements and productions, it’s unbelievable. Maybe the biz competition is harder, and every album has to be a very good album, or you are out.

The funny story is our bio eheh ! During the early years specially, we faced one billion of changes in the line-up. It’s been quite hard to find a solid solution but we finally got it!

We are currently planning the promotional activity for the summer, and we will keep updated our website about any upcoming tour. Just keep in touch and we will inform you about everything!

We are now concentrating on the promotional activity for Echoes. As soon as possible we would like to start writing the third album, and according to what is going to happen with Echoes we might manage the production with Dragonheart. We will also do some support activities for our endorsements… in a few words we want to rock and roll!
