To me it's a very good sum up of the Soilwork career so far, we brought back some of the elements that we had in the past and blend it up with some of the more recent heaviness and catchy melodies. It has a very interesting balance and some surprises as usual..

We wrote a lot of material on the road actually. This time around, the whole band has been more involved than ever in the songwriting which was very interesting. We still wrote music separately and usually have meeting were we give each other feedback.

The songwriting took about a year and the actual recording took us about 5 months..

Personal things. I wanted to sum up the development of my personality and character in the latest 10 years, I've pretty much been growing up on the road and everything has been going so fast. I wanted to stop for a second and see who I have become and bring up both the negative and positive sides.

I wanted to do the vocals with him both for the Figure and Stabbing album but he was not available at that time.. Thankfully Devin was available for this new album and I was really psyched to do the vox with him again and so was he. He really knows how to bring out the best of me, he really pushes me and make me sing my heart out...
He also stopped touring, he cant stand that anymore.. he's got a kid now and he likes to be around his family a lot. It was surely a cool experience to live with his family for two weeks. Devin is so focused in the studio though, it's very inspiring..

My 3 personal favorites are Sworn to a great divide, Your Beloved Scapegoat and As the sleeper awakes. The thing that makes the title track (Sworn..) special is that we brought back some thrashinfluences that remind you of the old Soilwork stuff but still have that melodic and bluesy feeling over it which makes it interesting. I'm really proud about the vocals I did in the chorus of that one as well, especially the "wailing falsetto" that you usually don't hear in metal..
Your beloved Scapegoat has a pretty unique metallic rock n roll feeling over it and has a great attitude, I'm using my voice in many different ways on that song as well..
As the sleeper awakes is special to me since I started building this song from scratch, starting with guitar. I usually get a finished song where I only put the melodies and lyrics on top but to actually write a song from beginning to end was really a cool challenge!

We will try to play as many songs from the new album as possible, we'll start with Exile, Sworn to a great.., Pittsburgh Syndrome and 20 More miles, we're very confident in that those songs will work out great live..

We picked the song Exile since it's a very catchy song but still has that dark powerful feeling over it which represents Soilwork in a good way..
The concept for the video is pretty trippy and I guess the video ended up ok in the end..
The concept is about us hiding our music from the outer world and there's this girl who's getting obsessed with our music and want to expose it to the world and we're fighting against her..
