Can you tell us more about your new album called « To The Nameless Dead » ?

It’s out now on Metal Blade records so it shouldn’t be too hard too find. Everything else you might need to know you can find at www.primordialweb.com


Can you speak to us about the recording sessions ?

We recorded the album in north wales in the middle of nowhere in 13 days last summer. Mainly using old analog equipment.


How did you proceed for the composition ?

Same way we always have done. In the rehearsal room over a period of months.


What are the lyrics talking about ? Where do you find inspiration ?

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Travelling, meeting people, reading, writing, anything, anywhere anytime. The themes on the new album deal with nationhood, martyrdom, faith, history and culture.


What are the biggest differences between this new album and the previous ?

This production is better on the new one, it’s more epic and possibly more straight forward metal. However all our albums are just chapters of the same book.


What’s your favourite track on « To The Nameless Dead » and why ?

Hard to say, possibly empire falls. Great track to play live.


Which songs from the album will you playing live ?

All of them over the course of the shows we play. Depends on the show, we will rehearse everything.


What are your favourite bands and all times albums ?

Iron Maiden, Holy Terror, Rotting Christ, Judas Priest, Manowar, Bathory, Candlemass, Neurosis, Isis, AC/DC, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Destroyer 666, Slough Feg, Morbid Angel, Black Sabbath, Nick Cave, Dead Can Dance, Woven Hand, 16 Horsepower, loads of things.


What's your opinion about the international metal scene ?

In what way ? I’m not interested in commercial overground stuff on major labels. Generally I’m just interested in underground stuff …


How do you prepare yourselves either mentally or physically before you enter on stage ?

Just try and focus on the gig, do some scales, stretches, paint up, mentally prepare yourself.


Are there any plans for an upcoming tour ?

A lot of talk, nothing confirmed right now. For the moment we will just play festivals during the summer.


Do you have funny or strange stories about the band you can share with us　?

I think any band going as long as we have been has many spinal tap moments, we are no exception. I have tons of stories of drunken idiocy, fights, missing flights for the stupidest reasons, falling off stages, … too many.


What are your projects for the future ?

Festivals, touring, travelling to some new places and meeting old friends, making new ones.
