Can you tell us more about your new album called « Grim Tales » ? Well, it's our third album and in my opinion the strongest one. We've taken back the heavy and brutal sound from the first album and spiced it up with more melody. We have 10 really good tracks if you're not including the intro and the whole impression makes me feel like I'm riding the rollercoaster. A big drama with fast, slow and groovy mid tempo songs which I think the death thrash audience will appreciate.
We recorded the album in Black Lounge together with engineer/producer Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry). It was a total blast and everything went really smooth. We were there for 5 weeks during summer time so it in between the takes we went for a swim at the local lake, hehe. This was probably the most relaxed album we've done when it comes to the recording, mainly because Jonas was so easy to work with. And we also worked extremely hard for 4 month before entering Black Lounge to be very prepared and this you can also hear within the songs. Everything from the small details to the whole arrangements, so it feels great knowing that all the blood, sweat and tears gave us a such a massive and impressive result.
Like we always do. First we write in separate ways and then we record a simple demo of the songs before going into the rehearsal room and start jamming and improving. But this time was a bit special when it comes to The Army. Me and Mikael worked together more this time. He came up with some cool riffs to my songs when I was hitting a massive wall and couldn't get further.
I find the inspiration to my lyrics everywhere. From the media, from my own experience and from movies. The lyrics are about all kinds of different crimes and wars with a personal touch to it all.
A guy called Pär Olofsson from Sweden. I think he did an excellent job drawn from my vision. It's a coverart that describes this hard album very good and general Grim will be with us till the end I guess J
No we didn't but we would love doing one but time will tell. It's kinda expensive and not that many channels will show this kind of aggressive music. But then you have all the dvd compilation so it can be worth it anyway. Well well, let's see what happens
I usually say "Bonebreaker propaganda" but now my favourite has to be "Cursed by the knife". It has that flow which I love. A straightforward song with some cool twists and it's great to sing to J
For the tour I don't know but for the releaseparty tomorrow in Gothenburg we'll play "Misfit with a machinegun, Saint Lucifer, A date with suicide, Cursed by the knife and Bastards of monstrosity".
Our touring plans at the moment is with Unleashed and Krisiun throughout Europe starting out on the 14th of November but after that I don´t know. Hopefully more touring cause this new album deserves the best possible attention. Maybe some festivals next summer as well. Time will tell.
Metallica with all their albums from Kill ém all to the black album. Well, I also dig Death magnetic JKiss is my favourite band of all times. Most of their albums is great in my opinion except for 4 albums or so. I´m also a huge fan of Slayer as well.
Well, we've been together for like 5 years now and a lot of stuff has happened during this time. It's impossible to tell all the great and fun stuff that has happened but it's been great so far and we intend to continue having the time of our lives.
We will tour as much as possible and after that maybe start writing some new material. There is no other projects except marching 100% forward with this band.
Well, to all you crazy metal heads out there. Watch out for Grim Tales. It will run you over like a bulldozer. Check it out !
