Can you tell us more about your new album called « Reconquering The Pit » ? RTP is our fourth album and our debut on Metal Blade ... I think its the best album in LDR-History cause its sounds more modern (the arrangements and synthies in the songs) as our older releases. We are still happy with it and got only good feedback from the zines and from our fans.
The recording session was between May and June 2007 in the Desert Inn Studios near our hometown herborn. It was relaxed working with our engineer T-Low Krieger. On RTP we worked with two different lead-guitar-players (our old one who left the band and our new one, Nils Förster) they shared the work and the arrangements of the leads on this album.
In the main i make some riffs or work out some ideas @ home and then we meet us with the whole band in our rehearsal room and put the riffs together and work out the arrangements of the songs.
Our lyrics on RTP talk about serious themes like Politics, Suicide, Self-Destruction, Genetic Engineering. Our Singer Jost wrote the lyrics to use them as a speaking tube and to free his mind. The lyrics are themes who he is dealing with.
The artwork is made by Björn Gooses of Killustrations. He worked also together with other bands like Aborted or Deadsoil for example and made the cover for our Breeding Insanity Album too.
My personal favourite tracks on the album are Titletrack and All of this Pain. Reconquering the Pit is a song which united every styles of hard music and kick ass very hard. All of this Pain was the first song who i arranged together with our new lead-guitar-player nils förster.
This time we are playing Reconquering the Pit, Sound of Breaking Bones, Nihil and All of this Pain live on stage. I think in the future we will play others songs of RTP too.
Not yet ... perhaps in 2008 we will film any live-show or anything else ...
My favourite albums are :
Metallica – Kill’em all Edge of Sanity – Crimson I Machine Head – Burn my Eyes Pink Floyd – Division Bell I got to many favourite bands but some of them are Kiss, Scorpions, old Unleashed and old Hypocrisy, Crowbar and none-metal-bands like Marillion or The Alan Parsons Project.
I think its fine to watch the scene growing up in the last years ... there are great new bands like Divine Heresy or As I Lay Dying which brings fresh air into the scene. Metal will never die ;-)
Next year we will play some huge festivals and we go on tour with Dismember and Hatesphere between February and March 2008 (all german dates).
Yes of course, but there are to many to talk about it here. We are just a band who likes to make party after a show. Come to one of our shows and look what will happen ... harrharr
We hope that we will play a succesful tour and play some cool shows in 2008 and in later 2008 we will write some new songs for the next album.
Hey Listeners of Metal Choc ... hope to see you all on a LDR-Show in the Future ... Keep on rotting and don’t forget ... evil never dies ... it just sleeps ...
