Interview Dead Hearts

Can you remain to us the story of Dead Hearts ?

The band formed in July of 2004. We wrote and recorded our demo (the words you betray 7") in about 3-4 weeks and played our first show that August. We recorded our Self Titled EP shortly thereafter. We toured a bit (signed to Ferret in here somewhere) and released No Love, No Hope in August ’05 on Reflections records. Toured a lot more in 2005, Started working on our LP for Ferret January ’06, found a new drummer (Josh Heatley) in March and recorded "Bitter Verses." Toured even more, The album Just came out and we just finished an AMAZING tour with The Warriors and Sick Of It All.

What are your biggest musical influences ?

Myself (Jeremy) I listen to a lot of American punk and hardcore and old rock and roll and classic metal.

How would you describe your music in your own words ?

Passionate.

Can you tell us more about your album called « Bitter Verses » ?

We worked hard on making the best album we could.

Who created the artwork ?

Jake Bannon and I think it turned out awesome!

Can you speak to us about the recording sessions ?

John at Nada recordings was a great and easy person to record with. I wouldn;t have it any other way.

How did you proceed for the composition ?

We spent 6 months writing the record, did some pre-production demos and spent 3-4 nights a week in our rehersal space working on the songs.

What are the lyrics talking about ? Where do you find inspiration ?

The theme for the record is insomnia. I was working a shitty overnight job  at the time and having trouble sleeping and just dealing with normal everyday things because of it. This all inspired the lyrics.

What¹s your favourite track on « Bitter Verses » and why ?

I like playing abandonment live, it has a great feel to it.

What are your favourite bands and all times albums ?

Iron Maiden, Naked Raygun, Bad Brains, Judas Priest.

You played with bands like Agnostic Front, Slapshot Š What are your best memories ?

I loved playing with those bands... We just finished a tour with Sick of it All! Amazing to play with such legendary bands.

Are there any plans for an upcoming tour ?

lots of touring, not specifics right now/.

What are your projects for the future ?

Touring! Touring!!!!

And as a conclusion, can you say some words for my radio show called Metal Choc ?

what's a "choc?"
