Can you tell us
more about your new album called « The Man Who Would Not Die » ?
This is the first album for four years, it’s a new band line up, we all
shared the writing.
Can you speak to us about the recording sessions ?We recorded and
mastered the album with Jase Edwards from Wolfsbane in his Tamworth UK
studio, a very talented man who is the master in his profession, many
hours of time and energy went into recording this wonderful album.
How did you proceed for the composition ?
We all wrote together, I had some ideas before, then the guys had some
musical ideas so went to Larry's house the drummer and put it all
together.
What are the lyrics talking about ? Where do you find inspiration ?
The lyrics are about my own life and events. I am inspired by things
that have happened to me and the guys, so each song is from something
from experience.
Who created the artwork ?
Felipe Machado, he was just awarded for the new Iron Maiden tribute
album.
What are your favourite tracks on « The Man Who Would Not Die » and why
?
I love every track on the album as they are all very close to my heart.
Which songs from the album will you play live ?
Eventually all tracks will be played live that are on the album.
What are your touring plans for 2008 ?
We plan to keep touring as much as we can and visit as many fans as we
can all over the world.
How do you prepare yourself mentally or physically before you enter on
stage ?
I try to remain as calm as possible, I do lots of deep breathing and
visualisation exersizes.
What are your favourite bands and all times albums ?
ACDC, Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio.
Can you tell us an anecdote which particularly marked your career ?
There are many times in my career but in the Maiden days I learnt a lot
and carried the experienced through my now career. Coming to France to
see the fans when Eddie fell over on the stage in France will always
stay in my mind.
What are your projects for the future ?
To keep touring, keep visiting all the fans, make more great albums.
